Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a rare muscular disorder that results in the loss of motor neurons and progressive muscle wasting. It is usually diagnosed in infancy or early childhood, and if left untreated, it leads to infant’s death. To help the SMA patient Pamir Pekin who needs urgent treatment outside of Turkey, the arch-rivals Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray sports clubs got together and organized a fundraising night for her. The aid event was broadcasted live on Beşiktaş JK YouTube TV.
