Holding a 3-2 advantage from the first leg, the visitors from the Turkish Division I opened the return match with an early Oltan Karakullukçu goal that temporarily silenced the home crowd at the Vodafone Park. Abdoulay Diaby brought the sides on level terms at the 33rd-minute mark and carried Beşiktaş’ qualification chances into second half. The Black and Eagles began the second 45 minutes with more intensity and put Erzurumspor under relentless pressure. They got their reward on 63 minutes when substitute Burak Yılmaz dribbled past the keeper and fired them 2-1 in front. However, the stubborn visitors would answer back through Ibrahim Sissoko’s equaliser a couple of minutes later before Oltan Karakullukçu netted his double and ended Beşiktaş’ Turkish Cup Quarter-Finals hopes.
