MATCH REPORT

The visiting Turkish Champions made a slow start into their VELUX EHF Champions League Group B game at La Trocardière and failed to contain the hot-handed Nantes wingers as the home side went on to build a 10-5 cushion midway through the first half. While the Eagles struggled offensively, the French hosts used the scoring of Klein and Balaguer to push their lead to 16-9 heading into the break. With Ramazan Döne and Tolga Özbahar, Beşiktaş Mogaz HT tried to close the gap at the outset of the second half, but Nantes refused to take their feet off the gas pedal, and led by the Bosnian Buric, stretched the gap into the double-digits after 40 minutes. From thereon, it was just a formality as the French team walked away with an impressive 33-19 win. While Senjamic Buric led the game with 6 goals, Ramazan Döne scored 5 for the Black Eagles.
