Visitors Beşiktaş lacked the pace and creativity in the first half as Ankaragücü took a 1-0 lead into the break, through Ali Sowe. Black and Whites were much quicker and passed the ball more accurately in the second half. As a result, substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain produced a wonderful solo effort to level the scores on 73 minutes. Black Eagles searched for the winner in the remainder of the game, but failed to find the net a second time as Ankaragücü held out for a 1-1 draw.
