“There are no easy matches in European tournaments. After being reduced to 10 men, we faced an uphill battle but stayed focused as a team and stuck to our game plan. Then substitute Semih Kılıçsoy stepped up and won the game for us. Like in the previous match, our forward substitutions worked for us here.  
 
I am happy with tonight’s result. We showed more desire in the second half; we displayed our true character and demonstrated our quality.
 
However, we must immediately prepare for the second leg, because if we want to advance to the next round, we have to win that match as well.
 
This team has been together for about a month. I believe we have established the foundation. But this team is capable of doing much more. We will see what the future holds for us.”
