Turkish nation’s struggle for independence, initiated by  Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in Samsun on 19 May 1919,  was crowned with the declaration of Turkish Republic by the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye on 29 October 1923.
 
 
On this very day, with endless gratitude and respect, we commemorate Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, his comrades-in-arms, and all our martyrs, who sacrificed  their lives for the country.
 
 
We will always adhere to the ideals and principles of Ataturk and continue to work tirelessly  towards his goals. Our Turkish Republic, which is 102 years old today, will stand strong forever.
