May 19, 1919 is the beginning of the Turkish nation's struggle for independence and sovereignty, the day when Ataturk landed in Samsun City and started the Turkish War of Independence. This meaningful date has gone down in history as the day when the foundations of modern Turkish Republic were first laid.
 
 
Following in the footsteps of Atatürk, who always emphasized his endless trust in Turkish youth, Beşiktaş JK have been trying to provide the nation’s young people with morality, good character and love for their country. Just like Ataturk, we believe that the dedication and spirit of Turkish youth will shape the future of our club and our country. 
 
Thanks to a proposal made by Beşiktaş JK founder Ahmet Fetgeri Aşeni, Ataturk, the greatest Beşiktaş fan of all times, gifted the May 19 to Turkiye as " The Youth and Sports Day".
 
 
With this occasion, we commemorate the founder of Turkish Republic and all our martyrs  with deep gratitude and respect.  Happy 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day!
