“It was important to come out of the group as the leaders. We started the match well and scored an early goal. After that, we should have finished the game, but we slowed down. They eventually came back and made it 1-1. We shouldn't allow our opponents to do that. Then, Rafa scored a beautiful goal and turned the game in our favor.
When I took over, the team was in a difficult situation. We've made some changes. Every player in the squad relearned the values of Beşiktaş and started gaining their confidence back. I don't accept players with bad body language.
The key to being a coach is to create a collective team. You can't succeed without teamwork and unity. You need to have the supporters on your side as well.
Our new addition Arroyo is an exciting player. He came to a new continent and country. Right now, he is going through an adaptation period. We're going to see a better Arroyo next year."
