A signing ceremony was held for Fernando Santos, who was appointed as the Manager of Beşiktaş Men’s Football Team, at the Beşiktaş Tüpraş Stadium today.  

At the  ceremony, Beşiktaş Chairman Hasan Arat said:

"Dear Koç, we welcome you and your coaching staff to Beşiktaş. You have won many trophies and championship titles. You have coached  world-famous stars. The world-famous club Beşiktaş and you will suit each other quite well here. Our players are eagerly waiting to meet you. Our current goal is to win the Turkish Cup and qualify for European tournaments next season. As management, we will provide you with the required support to achieve these goals. 

New Beşiktaş Manager Fernando Santos made the following statement at the signing ceremony:

“I'm delighted to be here. The world-famous club Besiktas is also the biggest club in Turkey. Istanbul is a very beautiful city. My family also loves Istanbul. I want to do good work here with the support of Beşiktaş community. We will take Beşiktaş to the place it deserves. Together, we will give our best to win matches.  You have to fight on the pitch to win. Other than that, nothing else will work. I want to bring that fighting spirit back.”
