The opening ceremony of the 2nd Beşiktaş JK International Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships were held at Beşiktaş Akatlar Sports Hall. Seyit Ateş, Beşiktaş Board  and Member Responsible for Amateur Sports and the Director of Beşiktaş JK Sports Schools Hakan Çelebi attended the event, along with Derviş Çatalbaş, the Vice President of the Turkish Gymnastics Federation Derviş Çatalbaş and a number of distinguished guests.

After the opening dances which gave the audience pleasant moments, Seyit Ateş  emphasized that the 120-year-old Beşiktaş had been a pioneer in Turkish sports and  went on with a short speech: "We are truly happy that nearly 600 gymnasts from 14 countries are taking part in this competition. I would like to thank the sponsor of our gymnastics department, Mr. Yavuz Türker and his rhythmic gymnastics-loving wife for their contributions. I  also wish lots of success to the athletes taking part in this unique event."
