“Everything is going according to our plan. We sometimes encounter small issues, but they mean no harm and every club have them. They are part of the pre-season preparations. All in all, we are on the right track.

During the pre-season friendlies we played here, I got a chance to see our young players in action and measure their potential. With the addition of our new signings, our ideal squad will begin to take shape soon. Right now, players are getting to know each other on the pitch and learning to play as a team.    

Together with Beşiktaş Football Operations Director Mr. Ceyhun Kazancı, we are working on the additional transfers to the team. The team’s pre-season performance has shown that we presently have a deep and strong squad. Only our defence need a little boost . However, there is still time for that transfer decision.

When he is given a chance to wear, every player should know the true value of Beşiktaş jersey and give one hundred percent on the pitch. To be able to do that he has to be ready at all times. If I see a player performing below his capacity, he may be sidelined until he proves that he can do the job.   

We presently have a  healthy competition going on among our new and old players. Everyone is battling for a place on the lineup. I hope to keep this going until the end of the season because it motivates the team and creates a positive atmosphere.

In order to make a positive start into the season, we are training real hard. A good start will give us confidence and make the things a lot easier down the road.  

On the other hand, it takes time for the newly arrived Black Eagles such as Saiss, Weghorst and Muleka to adopt to their new team and system. Since most  players are not at the same level of fitness, we are not fully ready as a team. Therefore, I would like to ask  our supporters to be patient with us but also believe in us. 

With young Beşiktaş Academy players  such as Ersin, Rıdvan Emre and Emirhan are now more experienced. we will  definitely be a stronger side  than last season. I will make sure that promising players from the club’s youth system get an opportunity  to display their abilities .   

Thanks to its amazing and rich history, Istanbul is a beautiful city everyone should visit once in their life time. Me and my family get a warm reception everywhere we go out there.
