Despite a sluggish start, the Black Eagles took the lead after 18 minutes through Güven Yalçın’s diving header from close-range. In search of a quick equaliser, the visitors opened up and pushed forward more after the goal, turning the game into an exciting end-to-end battle, but the score remained 1-0 in favour of Beşiktaş at the interval. Sivasspor lost a player to red card at the outset of the second half and had to play the rest of the game a man short. Taking advantage of the extra man, the Eagles turned up the pressure on their visitors in the remaining minutes. Then, subs Cyle Larin and Oğuzhan Özyakup each scored a goal down the stretch to seal the victory. The win has moved Beşiktaş into the second place on the Super League table.
