At season's first pre-season tournament at İzmir Ciy, Beşiktaş Aygaz men's handball team topped Beykoz SK (29-24) and Spor Toto SK (31-24) but lost to İzmir Bş Bld (23-28). With two victories, they went on to claim the top honours.
