“Due to budget restrictions, we have to part ways with some of our players to make room for the new signings. The costs of the players we acguired so far have all been within budget limits. For these reasons, finding new local and young talents is becoming more imperative for Beşiktaş every other day.
Since, last season, I used two U-19 players regularly on the line-up, I am all for the young players. But this doesn’t mean that we are going to overlook our experienced players because this is not a youth team. What we need is a balanced combination of these two age categories.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, we did not have proper pre-season preparations. We actually played no pre-season game before our Champions League qualifier. As a result, we lost a mistake-filled game which, under normal conditions, should have won easily. Now, we are gradually getting stronger and will get better results in the Europa Laegue.”
As a former Black Eagle, whose signing ceremony attracted nearly twenty-five thousand fans, I don’t need discuss my contract with the Club. I am a product of Beşiktaş Youth System and have been part of this great community since the start of my football career.
By finishing third in the Turkish Super League, we had a fairly good season last year. However, since we are all more experienced now, we’ll do better this season.”
