Black Eagles made a flying start into their away game and surged ahead 1-0 through Croatian defender Damagoj Vida’s header with only 8 minutes gone. Thanks to a beautiful curved effort from outside the box, Serbian midfielder Adem Ljajic made it 2-0 for the visitors 6 minutes later. In the closing minutes of the opening half, Vedat Muriqi of Rizespor cut the deficit to one and ended the scoring for the first 45 minutes. Burak Yılmaz doubled Beşiktaş’ lead again from a break-away on 64 minutes, but the home side’s hopes would be kept live with Abarhoun’s close-range finish. However, the Black Eagles were in no mood to slow down as back-to-back goals from Adem Ljajic and the sub Güven Yalçın (3) put the match away.
