Applying pressure right from the kick-off, the home side Beşiktaş went on to create several chances in the first half but were unable to beat the Erzurumspor’s goalkeeper who kept them at bay with a string of fine saves. Then, an own goal from Dorukhan put the visitors unexpectedly in front 1-0 on 68 minutes and silenced the crowd at the Vodafone Park. The same Dorukhan would make up for his mistake and bring the sides back on level terms with a superb header 10 minutes later. However, after Quaresma was sent off with a red card, the Eagles lost their attacking power and had to settle for the spoils.
