Former Beşiktaş JK Women’s basketball Head Coach Akkaya (born 1967 in Istanbul) will be coaching the Lady Black Eagles for the 2016-17 season. After serving Beşiktaş for nearly 24 years and winning numerous titles, he went on to coach Botaşspor and Edirnespor in Turkey. Akkaya was last an Assistant Coach to the Turkish national team.
