The Eagles had trouble finding an opening in the visitors’ crowded defence early on, but back-to-back headers from Atiba Hutchinson and Mario Gomez midway through the first half gave them a 2-0 goal cushion at the half.
 
Easily fending off Eskişehirspor’s rare and feeble attacks, the Black Eagles pushed on for an insurance goal, and their pressure inevitably reaped reward on 70 minutes when Gomez took advantage of a back-pass and calmly slotted ball into the back of the net to make it 3-0 for Beşiktaş. It was his Turkish Super League leading 18th goal of the season. The visitors pulled one back through Hadzic one minute before the full time, but it was too little and too late.
