The Black Eagles, whose regular season fixture against Mersin İdman Yurdu was cancelled in January due to snow, played the first half under foggy conditions and were unable to find an opening in the visitors’ compact defence. They started the second half again as the more attacking side but had to wait until the 73rd-minute mark to break the deadlock when Jose Sosa fired them in front with a superb free-kick. Beşitaş kept the remainder of the game under control to run out 1-0 winners.
