Black and Whites started out as the better side and wasted two clear-cut chances early on but kept the pressure going. They got their reward 2 minutes before the half-time when Atiba Hutchinson was brought down inside the box, and the referee showed the penalty spot. Beşiktaş’ top-scorer Super Mario Gomez converted the penalty-kick with ease and gave his team a 1-0 lead for the first half.
While the visitors Sivasspor searched for the equaliser with occasional attacks, Beşiktaş had several opportunitues to double their advantage, but due to poor finishing, failed to find the back of the net. However, Oğuzhan Özyakup would have the final word with a brilliant injury time goal and secure the three points for the Black Eagles.
