The Black Eagles made a brilliant start into their opening game of the season and went head on 9 minutes with Cenk Tosun’s solo effort. The home side responded trough Nakoulma in the 20th minute, but Cenk Tosun made it sure that the Black Eagles stayed 2-1 in front at the break thanks to a close-range finish just a minute before the half-time.  At the outset of the second 45 minutes, Beşiktaş found several chances to add their lead, only to wait until the 68th minute when Cenk Tosun scored his hat-trick from inside the box. Olcay Şahan made it 4-1 for the Eagles in the 74th with the man-of-the-match Oğuz Özyakup’s fourth assist of the night. Mersin pulled one back through Nakoulma on 90 minutes, but Beşiktaş would have the last word with sub Kerim Frie’s injury time goal. Final score: Mersin İdman Yurdu 2-5 Beşiktaş JK.
