Despite solid first half, winless Eagles suffer 4th loss in Champions League

Beşiktaş Mogaz vs. SG Flensburg-Handewitt 20:27 (11:11)

Unable to get their offense going, the Black Eagles started their Group B home game at the Kocaeli, Recep Topaloğlu Sports Hall poorly and fell behind 7-2 ten minutes into the action.  However, with goals from Erwin and Ozan, the heroes of Turkish handball managed to recover quickly and lowered the deficit to 10-9 with 2 minutes left in the first half. Then, Dacevic fired a last-second goal to bring the sides on level terms at 11-11, heading into the break.

Playing better defence and more efficient up front, the German team regained their grip on the game after the restart to open up a five goal, 20-15, lead at the halfway point. Beşiktaş Mogaz tried everything to close the gap in the remaining minutes, but the SG Flensburg-Handewitt’s experienced   goalkeeper Mattias Andersson kept them at bay with a string of brilliant saves, handing Beşiktaş Mogaz their fourth loss in as many matches.
