The Black Eagles appeared to be the better of the two sides in the early going and went ahead on 21 minutes, through Olcay Şahan who took advantage of a loose ball near the 6-yard line and drilled it home without hesitation. They kept the visitors away from their goal in the remainder of the first half to take their one-goal lead into the break.

With the start of the second frame, Eskişehir began digging for the equaliser and reached their aim in the 71th-minute when Berkay unleashed a shot from inside the box that hit the bar and dropped in. From then onwards, neither team were able to alter the outcome of the game as they ended up sharing the spoils.
