The Eagles made a flying start into their home game at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium and struck twice inside the opening 10 minutes with goals from Veli Kavlak and Mustafa Pektemek. The early advantage did not slow down Beşiktaş, but they failed convert their chances in the remaining minutes of the first half and had to settle for a 2-0 lead at the break.
Throughout the second half, Beşiktaş continued to search for the third goal and achieved that objective in the 69 minute when defender Atiba Hutchinson buried one in from close-range, which also wrapped up the scoring for the night. The win moved the Eagles into the second place on the Super League table, one point ahead of the arch-rivals Galatasaray.
