Eagles secure first away win of season

Kayseri Erciyesspor 2-4 Beşiktaş JK

The Eagles started the stronger of the two sides but fell a goal behind with an 11th-minute Vleminckx penalty. The home fans’ joy did not last too long as Fernandes drilled one in from inside the box to level the scores on 24 minutes. However, capitalising on a back pass to the keeper, Yasin brought the crowd back on their feet again 4 minutes before half-time and put Erciyesspor 2-1 up at the break.

With relentless attacks from both flanks, Beşiktaş pushed hard for the equaliser in the second half and got their reward 6 minutes after the restart when Gökhan Töre found the net with a superb solo effort. Then, a brilliant header from Escude off Fernandes’ cross gave the Eagles their first lead of night in the 65th-minute. The final word was left to Almeida who closed the scoring by blasting home a through pass from Oğuzhan late in the game.
