Playing mainly with reserves, the Eagles did not push themselves too hard in the first half, but thanks to Kadir Arı (32) and Burak Kaplan (39), were ahead by two, going into intermission. The Austrian Central Regional team showed some signs of life at the start of the second half as they pulled one back through Azameta on 48 minutes, only to see Mehmet Akyüz re-establish Beşiktaş’s two goal lead  with a well-timed header 3 minutes later. And then a long-range effort to the bottom corner of the net from Erkan Kaş put the match away for the Eagles in the 65th minute. Sand’s penalty reduced the deficit again 5 minutes from time, but it was too little and too late to save the Austrians.
