Beşiktaş’s Portuguese Manager was in jubilant mood after Karabük victory

‘Before else, I’d like to congratulate my players on their solid first-half performance. We kind of lost intensity in the second half, but I am happy to say that we are finally playing as a unit. That has been the driving force behind our recent success. After a slow start and very busy schedule, our current third-place league standing is not that disappointing as we are only few points behind the leader. I am sure we’ll be sitting in higher places at the end of the season.
 
In UEFA Europa League, we made it to the next round as group leaders. We are now eyeing the last-16. In general, I am satisfied with my squad, but adding a couple of players here and there will not hurt. I will take up this issue with Mr. Havutçu and our management. With the returning of our injured players Ersan Gülüm, Quaresma, Simao and Aurelio, our fans will see a much improved Beşiktaş in season’s second half.’
