Women’s basketball lose Istanbul derby

Starting with Courtney Vandersloot, Tuğba Taşçı, İlona Korstin, Yasemin Horasan and Ebony Hoffman, Lady Eagles had a terrible first quarter as none of their shots would fall and fell behind 19-4. They got over their shooting woes in the second but were still down 48-30 at the half.  
Third quarter saw Beşiktaş mount a strong comeback and pull within 58-53, heading into the final stanza. However, after their playmaker Vandersloot left the game with a broken nose, Fenerbahçe gained back control in the fourth to sail to a comfortable victory. Ebony Hoffman led the Eagles with 16 points, followed by Yasemin Horasan who had 13.
