Unexpected home loss for Lady Eagles

Taking the court with a lineup of Courtney Vandersloot, Ilona Korstin, Ebony Hoffman, Yasemin Horasan and Nihan Anaz, they started the game sluggish, but thanks to a string of layups by Horasan, were down only 18-16 after the opening quarter. Despite off-the-bench points from Korel Engin, Beşiktaş trailed 35-30 at the break.  
Lady Eagles looked more organized in the third, and with 2:10 remaining, managed to creep within one, 41-40, on a jumper by Korstin, only to see the resilient visitors respond with a late rally, which stretched their lead to 51-44 going into the final quarter. Due to back-to-back turnovers, Beşiktaş’s defense got completely shredded in the fourth quarter as Samsun Basket ran away with a stunning 14-point victory. Yasemin Horasan finished with 18 pionts, followed by Korstin who had 11.
