Galatasaray Café Crown 80, Beşiktaş Cola Turka 70

Beşiktaş Cola Turka men’s basketball dropped out of Turkish nationals after going down to Galatasaray 80-70 at the Cola Turka Arena today.

Playing with a starting five of Cevher Özer, Serkan Erdoğan. Chatman, Ogilvy and Kemp, the Eagles stayed in the opening quarter and went into the second stanza with a 16-16 tie. Getting a flurry of unanswered points from Ogilvy and Kemp, Beşiktaş Cola Turka took a double-digit lead, 33-22, midway through the second and was up, 38-31, at the intermission. 
The visitors got extra buckets from Shipp in the third to close within four, 49-45, at the half way mark, but the Eagles nevertheless managed to cling to a 56-52 edge after three quarters of play. Led by Chatman, Beşiktaş Cola Turka remained in front most of the final quarter, only to see Shumpert spark a late Galatasaray run that gave his team an 80 -70 win and 3-0 series lead.      
Cevher Özer chipped in 20 points for the Eagles, followed by Marcelus Kemp (18), Chatman (13), Ignerski (7), Bekir Yarangüme (6), Ogilvy (4) and Hüseyin Beşok (2).
