On Day 31 of the Turkish Super League, Beşiktaş shut out arch-rivals Galatasaray, 2-0, at the Inonu Stadium.

The Black Eagles started well and created most of the early chances, but due to hasty finishing, failed to convert them. The game eventually developed into a battle in midfield as the first half ended goalless.  
Beşiktaş was definitely the better side in the second half and took the lead through Aurelio’s header on 59 minutes. While the visitors were trying to figure out what hit them, the Portuguese midfielder Simao made it 2-0 two minutes later with a fine strike from inside the box. Neither team managed to change the scoresheet in the remaining minutes as the Eagles ran out 2-0 victors to pocket all three points.
