In Week 24’s matchup, Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball sneaked by Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyesi, 80-76, on the road tonight.
Led by Serkan Erdoğan, the Eagles opened the game on a 7-0 run and then rode the scoring of Kemp and Cevher Özer to build an 18-11 cushion by the end of first. Antalya Büyükşehir started the second quarter stronger and began chipping away at the lead but failed to stop Cüneyt Erden in the closing stages as the veteran drained a couple of clutch treys, which prevented the home team from coming to close. Beşiktaş Cola Turka was up by eight, 36-28, at the intermission.Thanks to back-to-back buckets by hot-shooting Kemp, the Eagles continued to dominate the game in the third. While Antalya struggled finding the mark, Mire Chatman sparked a late rally with a string of unanswered points that pushed the margin into double digits, 63-51, after three quarters of play. The fourth stanza was a different story as the host team managed to erase the deficit before tying the score at 75 on a Henderson layup with a minute left on the clock. Nevertheless, Kemp hit a couple of last second free throws to lift the Eagles to a 80-76 victory.
