Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball pulled out a 66-61 road victory over Tarsus Belediye, in a hotly-contested regular season finale.
The Lady Eagles came out all guns blazing and raced to a 6-point lead but, the home team used a 10-run to assert its authority midway through the opening stanza. The score remained close until the end in the second with Tarsus Belediye holding, a 39-36 edge at the break.
Teams continued to swap buckets in the early part of the third, but as the game rolled on, Marques and Melike Bakırcıoğlu started nailing from outside to give their team a 52-49 edge, heading into the final frame. Beşiktaş Cola Turka managed to hang on to its lead for most of the fourth until a late Tarsus Belediye surge narrowed the gap to one, 59-58, with a minute left to play. Nevertheless, Yasemin Horasan hit a clutch layup in the closing seconds and Nilay Kartaltepe followed her with a trey from downtown to put the game away for good, 66-61.
