On day 26 of the Turkish Super League, Beşiktaş defeated Kayserispor 4-2 at the Fiyapı Inonu Stadium.
The Eagles started lively to Manager Tayfur Havutçu’s debut, but it was the visitors who would go ahead first. Zaleyete took advantage of a defensive lapse and put the visitors 1-0 in front on 22 minutes with a clever finish. Beşiktaş pressed hard for the equaliser, only to find Kayserispor goalkeeper in fine form as he helped his team take a one –goal lead into half time.Beşiktaş continued to keep the game under control in the second half but had to wait until substitute Almedia’s 61st –minute header to level the scores. The goal seemed to spark the Eagles even more as they went ahead eight minutes later when Fabian Ernst headed home from close range. While the visitors were still licking their wounds, Portuguese international Qurasma’s bullet made it 3-1 for Beşiktaş. Kayserispor pulled one back in the 81st minute through a penalty kick from Selim Teber. But Almedia refused to let Beşiktaş get caught and scored his second one minute before full time to give the Eagles a well-deserved 4-2 win.
