Chairman Yıldırım Demirören marked Beşiktaş’s 108th Anniversary with a special message: 

Beşiktaş was founded by a group of twenty-two resilient youngsters as a small town club 108 years ago today. Over the years, it has grown to be the love of millions in and out of Turkey. This could’ve not been achieved, if we hadn’t stick together with passion, self- sacrifice and hard work. Our adherence to fair-play has also served as a driving force in our history. Without it, we wouldn’t be where we are right now. 
I take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to those who helped build this great club and fly the Black and White high. Happy anniversary to you all.
