The teams traded baskets in the early going with the Eagles clinging to a 10-9 edge midway through the opening quarter, thanks to Kemp’s hot-hand. But the host rode the scoring of Eugene Snow and Igor Milisevic to take 23-21 lead by the end of first. Connecting from all angles, Ali Karadeniz helped stretch the burgundy and blues’ advantage to 55- 42 at the break.Thanks to a string of unanswered buckets by Mire Chatman and Serkan Erdoğan, the Eagles battled their way back into the game in the third and reclaimed the lead at 73-70, entering the fourth. Despite a late Trabzonspor surge, the final quarter saw the Black and Whites maintain their dominance to walk away with a well-deserved 96-89 win.
Chatman led Beşiktaş Cola Turka with 18 points. Kemp (15), Ogilvy (15), Ignerski (14) Serkan Erdoğan (12), Cevher Özer (9), Bekir Yarangüme (7), Likholitov (4) and Mustafa Abi (2) all contributed to the Eagles’ scoring effort.
