On Day 24 of the Turkish Super League, Beşiktaş lost a heartbreaker to Trabzonspor at Fiyapı Inonu Stadium.
The Eagles laid siege to Trabzonspor goal right from the kick-off and enjoyed several early chances, only to see striker Bobo drill most of them wide. They upped the pressure after defender Serkan Balcı was sent off near the end, but failed to break the deadlock as the teams went to half time locked in a goalless draw.Beşiktaş started the second half the way they finished first, having plenty of the possessions and creating meaningful openings against their shorthanded visitors. They got their reward on 66 minutes when Bobo put them on the scoresheet with a fine finish. However, the stubborn Black Sea team refused to surrender and levelled the scores through substitute Ceyhun Gülselam a minute later. Then the Eagles’ Sivok received his second yellow, and both teams were reduced to 10 men. From that point on, the match turned into a real tense battle as the ball went back and forth. But the luck was with Trabzonspor, who found the net with an 88th minute goal from Burak Yılmaz to make it 2-1 and close the scoring for the night.
