Galatasaray 96, Beşiktaş 79

In an Istanbul derby, Beşiktaş Wheelchair Basketball fell 96-79 to Galatasaray at Süleyman Seba Sports Hall.

Roared on by a vocal home crowd, the Eagles matched their formidable opponent point for point in the opening quarter and were up, 21-20, after one. The teams continued to swap baskets in the second, but a late spurt gave the visitors a 45-41 edge at the intermission.
In the third frame, both teams proved why they are the best two teams in Turkish league as the score remained close all the way through. Battling international star studded Galatasaray with an All-Turkish side, Beşiktaş refused to let its arc-rival to run away and was down by only six, 66-60, entering the fourth. But a succession of questionable calls by the official changed the course of the game entirely in the final quarter and helped Galatasaray emerge with a 96-79 victory.
Ahmet Akpınar,BJK JK Board Member Responsible for Legal Affairs and Gökhan Orhan, the Chairman of DG Farma, who sponsors Beşiktaş, were among the crowd.
