Beşiktaş Women’s Volleyball bowed out of the CEV Cup Quarterfinals after suffering a 3-0 loss to Chateau d'Ax Urbino of at the BJK AKatlar Cola Turka Arena last night.
The Lady Eagles made a strong start into the game and entered the first technical timeout with an 8-6 advantage. The visitors bounced back to pull ahead 16-14 at the second. The rest of the set was a tight affair that saw that Italians prevail 25-23 in the end.In the second set, thanks to better blocking, Beşiktaş raced out to an 8-5 lead by the end the first timeout. However, the Italians regrouped quickly and took narrow 16-15 edge into the second technical break. Then the game again went back and fourth, and despite leading 19-18 at one point, Beşiktaş Women’s Volleyball eventually dropped the set 25-22 to fall 2-0 behind in sets.
The demoralized women in Black and White trailed 8-2 and 16-8 at the technical timeouts in the third set and never recovered rest of the way, losing the set 25-17 and the match 3-0. The loss ended the Lady Eagles’ European campaign for the season.
