After the loss to Büyükşehir Belediyespor, Beşiktaş Manager Bernd Schuster expressed his displeasure over the events that took place on the pitch:

“Frankly speaking, we came here just to play football and nothing else. We faced an extremely passive team, which sat back and waited for us to make mistakes. Instead of challenging us, they took advantage of the events unfolded on the pitch and won the game.
The referee showed me a red card for swearing at the linesman. How can I swear? I don’t speak a word of Turkish. I was just trying to argue an offside call, but the fourth referee took my gestures as an insult. I think the referee made a big mistake there.”
