After the Bucaspor match, Beşiktaş Manager Bernd Schuster reflected on his lads’ impressive performance:

“I think we played real well tonight. We took control right from the kickoff and never let up. Unlike our previous games, we created a flurry of chances and our forwards managed to convert most of them. Our midfield also put in an excellent effort as they fought for every inch. All these enabled us to win by a comfortable margin.
Because of League’s 6-foreign-player restriction, 2 of our players had to sit on the bench while to other 2 did not dress up. Therefore, we could not make use of our full line up. The sooner this matter is solved, the better it is for Turkish football.
Since we wanted to make a good start into the season’s second half, this match was really important to us. I am glad everything worked out fine. Let’s not forget, our new signings made their debut in this one, but they played like they’d been with us for a long time and surprised everyone. We expect to put together a lasting winning streak these days.
Next week, we take on the League leaders Trabzonspor in the Turkish Cup, and we are all looking forward to that match. If we can win beat them, we’ll be showing everyone that we are on the right tract. It is going to be real test for us.”
