In the season’s second half opener, the Black Eagles blew past visitors Bucaspor 5-1 at Fiyapi Stadium with goals from Nobre (2), Guti (29 and Simao.
The match attracted a large home crowd which came out to watch Beşiktaş’s new signing. Simao Sabrosa and Hugo Almedia were both on the starting line up, but Manuel Fernandes entered the game in the 65th minute.The match was refereed by Yunus Yıldırım and the fans, anxious to witness the revamped Beşiktaş, put on an outstanding show before the kickoff.
Wearing their new gray jerseys, the Eagles pressed forward strongly at the start and took lead after eight minutes when Nobre rose to powerfully head home Guti’s corner-kick from the far post. The shock of the early goal threw Bucaspor off balance, as the Black and Whites doubled their lead thanks to a 19th-minute Guti penalty kick, awarded to Bektaş after Beto handled the ball in his own box. One minute before half time, Quresma’s deflected shot put Simao face-to-face with Bucaspor goalkeeper and the Portuguese star made no mistake from close range to score his first goal for Beşiktaş, 3-0. The Eagles took that three goal advantage into the half.
To the delight of their fans, Beşiktaş maintained their fast-paced momentum in the second half, and Nobre made it 4-0 for the home side during a goalmouth scrimmage on 64 minutes. Minutes after Manuel Fernandes, the last of the Black and White’s new signings, made his debut by replacing Nobre up at the front, Guti settled the matters with a crisp 73rd minute finish. Two minutes later, Bucaspor pulled one goal back through Musa Aydın, 5-1, but it would make no any impact on the final outcome of the match as the Eagles sailed to a four-goal victory to start the second part of the season on a right foot.
