Beşiktaş 1 – 1 Gaziantespor

Beşiktaş were held to a 1-1 draw by the Gaziantepspor in the final match of Turkish League’s first half with the Eagles’ lone goal coming from Ali Kuçik on 65 minutes.

The match refereed by Halis Özkaya was played before the empty stands of Mardan Antalyaspor Stadium due to Black and White’s two-game suspension.
The early minutes of the match saw both sides battling for supremacy in midfield with not much success. Although the pace somewhat picked up near the end, the teams settled for a goalless draw heading into the locker room at the interval.
Beşiktaş looked more determined in the second half as they took the game to Gaziantepspor and started creating some threatening chances. But it turned out to be the visitors who would break the deadlock first. Olcan redirected a deflected Gaziantepspor free-kick into Beşiktaş’s net to put the red and black a goal up after 60 minutes. The Black Eagles did not lower their heads down however and got back on level terms through Ali Kuçik five minutes later, 1-1. Beşiktaş pushed hard for the winner in the closing stages but could not find the net again.
The draw raised the Eagles’ points to 28 and gave them the sole possession of the fifth place in the table going into winter-break.
