Beşiktaş 1 – 0 Bursaspor

Filip Holosko’s second-half goal was enough for the Black Eagles to claim a 1-0 win over visitors Bursaspor in Week 15 action at the Fiyapı Inonu Stadium.

The contest was refereed by Fırat Aydınus while a vocal home crowd urged the Black and White on throughout the game.

The match started out evenly with both sides going on attack but failing to penetrate each other’s defence. Nevertheless, as the half wore on, the Eagles, led by Guti, became a little more fluid upfront and created a number of clear-cut chances. In one of them, Holosko found the back of the net, but it was disallowed for handball. The momentum completely swung in Beşiktaş’s favour when Volkan Şen received his second yellow card for arguing a call in stoppage time and left Bursaspor a man short on the pitch. The teams went into the dressing room goalless at the interval.
The second half got underway as expected; Beşiktaş, with a one man advantage, bossing most possessions while the visitors sat back tight and crowded defence to prevent that specific thing. Substitute Sabata, entering the game to replace defensive midfielder Necip Uysal, livened up the scene for the Eagles with dangerous crosses from both flanks and made Bursaspor defence work even harder. After Holosko and Guti wasted two close calls, the Black and Whites got they were looking for with 65 minutes gone on the clock. Beşiktaş’s German player Roberto Hilbert dropped a great pass behind the visitor’s defence to Slovakian forward Filip Holosko, who broke through and fired the ball into bottom corner, much to the delight of the home fans. The Eagles brought on defenders Ismail Köybaşı and Fink for Ali Kuçik and Guti to preserve their one goal advantage in the remaining minutes and their tactic paid off as they ran out 1-0 winners. The win raised the Black and Whites’ point tally to 27 after 15 matches and moved them into 5th place in the table.
