Beşiktaş’s Slovakian International Holosko made Beşiktaş history by scoring the Eagles’ 100th goal in UEFA Cup competitions with a goal against CSKA Sofia last night.
Coming into last night’s match, the Eagles had scored 98 goals in the UEFA cup tournament, which is known as “The Europa League” today. The Europa League is currently the second major club tournament after the Champions League. With two goals against CSKA Sofia, they have reached the 100th goal milestone.It was Filip Holosko who found the back of the net on 64 minutes to post the Black and White’s 100th goal.
The Eagles participated in the UEFA Cup tournaments 10 times and played 62 matches. In those matches, they recorded 27 wins, 14 draws and 21 losses, scoring 98 goals against 74.
Beşiktaş’s first UEFA Cup goal came from Sinan Alayoğlu in a match against the Romanian side Steagul Rosu at the Inonu Stadium on September 18, 1974. The Black and White won the game 2-0.
The 50th goal of Beşiktaş in the same competition was netted by Adem Dursun in a match against the Vaduz of Liechtenstein at the Inonu Stadium on August 25, 2005. That game ended 5-1 in favour of Beşiktaş
