Aris 68, Beşiktaş Cola Turka 66

Visiting Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball dropped its fourth FIBA Group C game, 68-66, to Aris in Thessaloniki City last night.

The Lady Eagles started the game on a 5-0 run and were ahead, 12-7, after one. The Greeks bounced back in the second frame as they pulled to within one, 27-26, going into the locker room at the break.
Aris came out flying in the second half and opened up an 11-point, 38-27, lead just two minutes into the third quarter. As the game progressed, Beşiktaş Cola Turka managed to cut down on careless turnovers and crawled within 53-47 entering the fourth.
Thanks to a flurry of three-pointers, the Greeks made another impressive start in the final quarter to take the lead back to double digits. But the resilient Lady Eagles, who played catch-up most of the quarter, refused to surrender and mounted a late rally to creep within 67-65 with 14 seconds remaining in the game. However, Aris would not allow Beşiktaş Cola Turka get any closer than that as they walked away with a narrow 68-66 victory.
Marques led the Lady Eagles with 22 points. Salkauske (21), Santos (15), Yasemin Horasan (5) and Esra Erden (2) were the other contributors to Beşiktaş Cola Turka’s offensive output.
