On Matchday 10 of the Turkish Super League, the Black Eagles beat visitors Sivasspor 2-1 at the Fiyapı Inonu Stadium.
Beşiktaş made a flying start into the game and went ahead as early as the fifth minute through Bobo. The Brazilian striker lashed home a well-timed cross from İbrahim Üzülmez, who was brilliantly set up by Guti. The Black and White’s continued pressure would lead to another goal as Necip Uysal doubled the score with a clever finish from close range on 22 minutes. Getting in dangerous crosses from Holosko and İbrahim Üzülmez, Beşiktaş tried to put the match away in the remaining minutes, but the first half came to close with the Eagles leading 2-0.Sivasspor brought on Suarez for Erman in the second half and began to push forward more. Their tactic paid off as the substitute pulled one back after 67 minutes. Seeing the three points threatening to slip away, the Black and White replaced forwards Guti, Holosko and Bobo Kahveci with Yusuf Şimşek, Nihat Kahveci and Ernst. The latter of the match was highly dramatic for both sides. While Beşiktaş substitutes Nihat and Ernst were denied by the post, the visitors came close to equalising through Cihan and Suarez but could not get past the Eagles keeper Rüştü Reçber who produced a couple clutch saves in the final minutes. The match ended 2-1 in favour of Beşiktaş.
