Banvit 74, Beşiktaş Cola Turka 61

Visiting Banvit claimed a 74-61 victory over the Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball in the second week of Beko Basketball League at Akatlar Cola Turka Arena.

After Ignarski’s opening baskets, the teams traded buckets all the way, but a late a Banvit surge lifted the visitors to a 17-10 lead with 3:00 left. Nevertheless, the Black and Whites managed to rally back and a last second 3-pointer by Cevher Özer gave them a 20-19 edge entering the second.
Banvit regained its previous rhythm in the second quarter and knocked down consecutive threes to grab an 8-point, 32-24, advantage after four minutes. Beşiktaş Cola Turka tired hard to reduce the deficit in the losing minutes but trailed by nine, 39-30, at the break.
The visitors continued to dominate after the restart and held off all comeback attempts by Beşiktaş to stretch their lead to 54-41 heading into the final quarter.
The Eagles got back into the game in the fourth as they started chipping away at the deficit with a number of layups by Cevher Özer and Bekir Yarangüme. They were down by only five, 66-61, with 1:30 to play, but Banvit put together a 6-0 run down to stretch to walk away with an impressive 74-61 victory.
