“If we could convert one of our early chances, the score might have been different, but all in all, Porto is undeniably the favourites of this group and they’ve proven it tonight. They played better than us out there, and we still have to work hard to reach their level. But our fans should not be disappointed because we are a new team and have all the means to improve. 
We looked more determined at the outset of the second half, but their second goal broke the game open. After falling two goals behind, we had no other alternative but send everyone forward, which resulted in leaving large gaps at the back. We struggled to contain their speedy forwards such as Hulk, who is also an excellent finisher and hurt us bad tonight. Despite the score, we fought as much as we could against a better team.
I don’t know what the result would be, if we had Guti, Quaresma, Aurelio and Ferrari on our line up. But one thing is for sure, we would create more chances. I expect them to recover for our return match in Portugal.
We need to find a way to strengthen our defence and create more chances upfront. We know where we need to improve, and we are working on it. In our future games, we will change our game strategy, and you will see a different football being played on the pitch. At present, we are plagued with a series of unfortunate injuries and going through a difficult period. But despite of these handicaps, we are battling hard out there and not giving up until it is real over. That’s what did tonight, and from this perspective, I am satisfied with my players’ over all performance.  
 Now, we must forget about this match and focus on the next one. No matter what happens, we will go to Porto to win. We have two matches left to play, and we will do our best to qualify from this group.”
