With a 94-82 opening game victory, the Black and Whites kicked off the new season on right foot, and following their impressive road win, Beşiktaş Head Coach Burak Bıyıktay talked to reporters:  

“It was an important win for us because it is not easy to beat Turk Telekom on its home court. At certain times of the game, we had some shooting woes and couldn’t get our offensive going. In addition to this, especially in the third quarter, we went over the foul limit too early and allowed them to take control. But we, nevertheless, managed to stay in front entering the fourth which turned out to be a one way affair. In general, I am satisfied with the result.
In the weeks ahead, we are going to play tougher teams so need to get better soon.Due to a series of injuries to our key players, we really struggled last year so we kept a larger roster this season. Right now, we have 10 extremely talented and experienced players on our roster, and we are better preapered. We are going to use every one of them.”
